But how and why did this all start?
My own dark night of the soul.
My health journey, and that of my family’s, has led me down many paths towards achieving health and wellness, towards balance and integration of mind, body, and spirit.
I didn’t simply learn and study these things for the sake of it… it was a necessity. Arthritis, obesity, diabetes, anxiety, depression, suicide, schizophrenia, cancer, ADD/ADHD, eating disorders, and all manner of chronic health disorders. These, and so much more, have touched my life and those of loved ones.
A 6-ft male, when my health was at its worst, I weighed in at 118 lbs. with deteriorating kidney and liver functions alongside gastrointestinal issues and hormonal imbalances; depression, burnout, body dysmorphia, and an eating disorder. I had addictive tendencies, a lifetime of compulsive perfectionism, and a complete lack of self-worth.
I exercised 7 days a week without rest. I fasted multiple times a week. Weighed all my food.
All for the sake of "health."
There was a complete and total lack of connection between myself, my body, and total lack of balance in my life driven by unconscious wounds, pain, and trauma.
Finally, my body gave in and shut down, prompting a journey of deep self-reflection, discovery, healing of the mind, spirit, and physical body.
Safe to say, my 20s were a rough time. Much of what I’ve learned and experimented with over the years, following this completely dark night of the soul, was to both help myself and my family in bringing the body and mind back into alignment.
After many rounds of going to doctors, getting bloodwork, running many tests… with no answers or help (the final doctor I visited was a gastrointestinal specialist whose solution was that I simply work on bringing my weight back up by eating cheeseburgers and milkshakes every night!), I really had no choice but to take my life into my own hands.
And, this now is what I teach and do.
Once we lay the groundwork (addressing diet, movement, sleep), lower stress and inflammation, work on the mind, address subconscious patterns, and create new sustainable lifestyle changes, my aim is to provide you the tools and knowledge you need to live your greatest life. Full of meaning, passion, joy, and vibrant vitality.
95% of our lives is determined by our subconscious programming. If your life isn’t how you want it to be, it’s not your fault.
It is, however, your responsibility to create awareness and change that.
But not alone.
